The simplest way to access to commons:Special:Notifications is to click the notifications button in Commons. If you click the notification button in Wikidata (or any other project different than Commons) you go to d:Special:Notifications (or the local equivalent on other projects) which show all the notifications for Wikidata but only a digest of the notifications from Commons and other projects. There are templates for this that you put at the top of the category. The main one is {{Speedydelete}}. The syntax and options for that are documented at Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion. There are also some other templates that can be used for specific reasons. The ones I find most useful are:

{{Bad name}} -- takes a parameter giving the existing page with the correct name
{{Category renamed}} -- takes a parameter giving the existing cat with the new name
{{Empty page}}

Some of those are not just for categories, and one is a redirect.

G1 if test page, accidental creation, or page containing nonsense or no valid content

G2 if unused and implausible, or broken redirect

G3 if content intended as vandalism, threat, or attack

G4 if recreation of content previously deleted per community consensus

G5 if temporary deletion for history cleaning or revision suppression

G6 if uncontroversial maintenance

G7 if author or uploader request deletion 7 days

G8 if page dependent on deleted or non-existent content

editing

In editing, there is the Edit summary field at the bottom left of the panel that formerly listed previous summaries that I have used. I could then choose one string and use it or choose one and modify it. In either case, it saved on my keystrokes/fingers/hands, etc. Since last week, when I put my cursor over the first position of the Edit summary field and click the left button of my mouse to retrieve the list, I get nothing. It always worked before. Does anyone know about this? Did something change? Thanks Hmains (talk) 02:17, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
