This may be a suspected LTA, with a pattern of 'offensive' edits at Wikinews and other sites, They may also be account hopping, as I've seen the same pattern under a number of user names. I suspect that the request they made here was related to my reverts and attempts to raise concerns with local project admins at English Wikinews. Some of the previous accounts are already Globally locked, but I'm not aware if there have been any checkuser or LTA protocol contacts with the originating ISP yet. Request for advice regarding spambots

Hello! I reported cricketbatpro.com to the spam blacklist, but then doubted myself and withdrew the request; you subsequently blacklisted it. I had also reverted obvious spam additions from various other domains that you blacklisted today. If it's alright with you, I'd like some advice for what to do when I see obvious spambots; sometimes they're TAs, in which case I could request help from a GTAIV but there doesn't seem to be a venue for that. Sometimes they're 1-edit accounts; in that case should I report them to SRCU for an LWCU? If I'm certain it's xwiki spam, is two diffs enough to blacklist? That's a lot of questions; feel free to answer as many or as few of them as you want, and any other advice you have is more than welcome (I'm quite new to dealing with spambots). @Lp0 on fire: Hey, said links all belong to the same spam group. Although the IP data is sketchy since they use proxies etc. they are behaviourally same, so global blacklisting imho is beneficial (especially with those casino related spamlinks, which got reused after some time). I don't think LWCU is of any use, these are throwaway accounts anyways ... Hopefully I noted clearly on the global spam blacklist that I brought two distinct spam rings, one being the video games/casino spam and the other with kitchen related links. For best performance in crosswiki anti-abuse matters I suggest using Xtools global contributions, spamcheck and Global search for more complex spam, however I believe you're already familiar with all of them. It kinda boils down to time spent on preventing spam and abuse, at least that's how I started making pattern observation and certain case trackers ... I know it's hard to write everything down, especially due to beans and forgetting things, but hopefully I have answered your questions, if not, do not hesitate to ask! @Lp0 on fire: Hey, this form of spamming is especially cruel so I think it's reasonable to blacklist all spam from this sockfarm (as it's not only one website being spammed, and most affected are small wikis, which are under-patrolled). However we always need to ask question whether we would prevent the spamming by blacklisting websites or is there perhaps an easier (less expensive) way of preventing said abuse, like blocks and/or locks. Beware that there are also spammers who obfuscate spamlinks in what looks like a valid contribution, I suggest visiting archive of Wikiproject:Antispam which has noted multiple examples of this abuse – keep in mind we might be sometimes looking at trusted users who unintentionally passively spammed some links through translations etc. Luckily for us, these cases usually spam only a handful of websites as contributing in such way is way more expensive than drive-by spamming a bunch of websites like in the case above.
