Old Anatolian Turkish
Etymology 1
From Proto-TurkicCategory:Old Anatolian Turkish terms derived from Proto-Turkic#اسی *idi. Accoring to Ayverdi, the word evolved as *idi > اذی (iẕi) > *iyi > *i: > *i:-si ("its owner") > issi, with the consonants geminating due to the influence of the long vowel. The alternative form اس (is, ıs) is a result of the word being reanalyzed as is-si. Doublet of ایه (iye)Category:Old Anatolian Turkish doublets#اسی.
