@Alexis Jazz I have tried and tried but for some reason just can not get a box to display more then 1 pic and I have no idea how you got it aligned. That said I would like to feature 2 of my pics in the right collum. WPPilot, all photographers I checked who have multiple photos of their work on their profile appear to have substituted the template or made their own layout. I don't recommend you do that as it makes the wikicode much harder to read. It's technically possible to insert two images with the current template with this hack but it's very ugly. Deletion category tags

Thanks for adding the Category:AI-generation related deletion requests/pending! I always forget about those. They do need a <noinclude> tag around them so that they don't pull all of the autogenerated daily and monthly deletion collection pages into the same category, though. I've wrapped some around it. Hello again Jazz, I have another riddle for you: I have decided to rename every photo or media item I have don as D Ramey Logan to Don Ramey Logan. Some of them, such as this one: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Costa_Mesa_01_Photo_D_Ramey_Logan.jpg Was once changed from Don to D Ramey. WPPilot, if I do a mass rename (which would save everyone a lot of time), I'm gonna take the heat for it. Yes, policy allows uploader-requested renames. But nobody ever expected someone to request hundreds of renames due to personal preference.
You could also put a straw poll on COM:VPP. If I start mass renaming all your files without consensus somebody will 100% drag my ass to COM:ANU. Maybe nothing would come from that, but I don't need the drama.
Or you could ask COM:AN as I'll need CommonsDelinker to rename your files on projects. I can generate commands for CommonsDelinker but I won't try to insert the commands on my own as someone else should look at them to ensure they are correct. Commons:File renaming - Wikimedia Commons
A user script that can rename many files in the same category: User:Perhelion/massrename.js. Note that this user script requires file mover rights.
Users without file mover rights can use User:Deltaspace42/mass-rename-request. I dont understand why others would even care? We seem to have a policy and a tool to do it? Don (talk) 05:51, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
WPPilot, because we are generally reluctant to rename files. Probably in part because it breaks images that were hotlinked outside Wikimedia. Strictly speaking COM:FR#FR1 has no listed limitations, but it's highly unusual for anyone to request hundreds of renames like this.
Please stop requesting renames by hand. I've seen multiple typos in your recent requests, I suspect this is becoming an unhealthy emotional burden for you. New shortcuts just dropped

Hello. I have recently created the page COM:Arguments to avoid in deletion discussions for directing and educating users who made an erroneous argument in a deletion discussion (including nominators). While these are primarily designed for deletion discussions, they also work with undeletion discussions, in which you seem relatively active in.

Here are some shortcuts that I think are going to be used especially often:

  • COM:ITSFAIRUSE - when someone defends an image as fair use
  • COM:BADCC - when someone thinks that all Creative Commons licenses are allowed
  • COM:IAMOWNER - when someone asserts he is the copyright owner without proof
  • COM:IHAVEPERMISSION - when someone asserts he has permission without proof
  • COM:MYPHOTO - when someone takes the photo without accounting for COM:DW or COM:FOP
  • COM:IDONTLIKEIT - when someone nominates a file or supports deletion because he doesn't like the file in question with no guideline/policy based reason

Images from gob.mx

Hi AJ. You left me a couple of copyright warnings relating to images I uploaded that were taken from gob.mx, the Mexican govt website. I have been told by other users at the English wikipedia that anything from a govt website can be used without any copyright problems. It came up because somebody there was using large numbers of photos that appeared on the Filipino govt website and I queried it. Is what I was told incorrect or does there need to be a process of attribution that I haven't completed properly?

Boynamedsue, depends on the government, and there are exceptions. Works by employees of the US federal government are public domain. COM:CRT/Mexico#Government works says works by the Mexican government are protected by copyright for 100 years. Based on what you said in a discussion, I withdrew both the DR's here,as your reasoning was that another contributor had misapplied a specfic policy, and the parent category here had already been retained in a previous DR. ShakespeareFan00, I think you were right to withdraw. Some of the photos in that DR could be out of scope, but not that many. (I spot-checked just a few) And the quality seems mostly quite decent. Commons:Deletion requests/File:Big size circucised hungarian penis superficial dorsal veiny.jpg is a good example of what COM:PENIS is really for.
I've (sometimes speedily) kept a whole bunch of Issac's DRs. COM:PENIS doesn't mean every penis/vulva, when a photo shows something unique like a particular condition, state or illness we don't already have an abundance of high-quality images of or the image is well-lit and high quality, COM:PENIS doesn't apply. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 13:45, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
Thank you, however the issue of media with 'mature' content or themes, is however not merely a discussion point for me anymore, in the last few days, it has started causing active problems. I've had periods where NO media from Commons was loading, at one point the site had reverted back to a pre CSS era, with only the basic HTML showing, not even site scripts were running. This seemed to happen after I'd raised or commented in certain DR. (I'm suspecting some kind of adaptive filtering most likely browser or back bone based, it's certainly not coming from the Wikimedia side). The lack of images from Commons, rendered contribution on Wikisource essentially unusable. Commons (and other projects) are NOT censored, but what I term are 'objectionable trust architectures' often imposed externally in the interest of 'doing something about evil and harmful content' are making it so, even if 'filtering' is not a Community supported goal.
Commons could many years ago have made an editorial decision, reluctantly to not host certain material (like certain other formerly well known encyclopedias), It bravely decided that it wasn't, going to. It's a shame that some contributors, don't get this.

ShakespeareFan00, sometimes it's an overcorrection for criticism they received, sometimes it's revenge for the same thing, sometimes it's just an LTA yanking our chain and presumably sometimes it's people thinking they found God.
