I did review the earlier discussions and decisions, but none of them addressed the current issue of ongoing verifiability.

While those prior comments referred to historical license verification, the situation has since changed — the Flickr source is now private and cannot be independently accessed or confirmed.

Under Commons policy (COM:V), license information must remain publicly verifiable at all times. If a license can no longer be confirmed, that affects the file’s compliance today, regardless of what may have been verified in the past.

My question was simply to understand whether Commons now considers past verification sufficient even when the original source has become inaccessible, or if there’s a defined process for reassessing such cases.

Thank you again for clarifying — I’m asking purely to understand current policy application so I can align future actions appropriately.

Dear Tm, Thank you for working on the Justin Higuchi photographs. I worked on these photographs for several hours in the last 2 days. I didn't know you were still working on the photographs too. As there were 2 categories "to be checked", I transferred all "unchecked" files to the category Photographs by Justin Higuchi to check (as the other category had an incorrect English name ("to checked"). I only removed files from the category after I had effectively checked them and had put them in a correct name category. I will only work on the files again to have watermarks removed. Renomeação incorreta de categoria e reversões sem justificação

Volto a chamar a atenção para mais uma edição tua na Wikimedia Commons que não faz sentido e que, mais uma vez, foi feita sem qualquer explicação. Renomeaste a categoria das Festas de Santo António de Lisboa, que eu já tinha corrigido para Category:Feast of Saint Anthony (Lisbon), para Category:Feast of St. John the Baptist in Lisbon, reintroduzindo um nome incorreto para uma festividade diferente.

Isto não é um caso isolado, já te pedi anteriormente que justificasses este tipo de reversões, mas continuas a fazê-lo sem qualquer explicação. Esta postura não é adequada num projeto colaborativo e acaba por prejudicar a consistência da informação.

Da minha parte, optei por uma abordagem construtiva, vindo aqui pedir esclarecimentos em vez de iniciar um ciclo de reversões ao desfazer a tua edição.

Sim, Category:Feast of St. John the Baptist in Lisbon, 2011, como é de conhecimento comum, São João, em inglês, não é traduzido para Saint John mas para Saint Anthony daí ter esvaziado a Category:Feast of St. John the Baptist in Lisbon, 2011 e passado todos os seus ficheiros para Category:Feast of Saint Anthony (Lisbon) e todos os seus ficheiros, mesmo quando são claramente nomeados como "Lisboa (P), 2011, Festa de São João.". Portanto, tendo em conta que estas são as edições que inicialmente fizeram um erro de corrigir festas de Santo António com as Festas de São João, "Volto a chamar a atenção para mais uma edição tua na Wikimedia Commons que não faz sentido e que, mais uma vez, foi feita sem qualquer explicação"- Tm ([[User talk:Tm#top|int:Talkpagelinktext]]) 18:46, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

Percebo a analogia que estás a tentar fazer, mas essa ironia só acaba por tornar a situação mais confusa, não ajuda e não é uma abordagem saudável nem construtiva na Wikimedia. São João (St. John the Baptist) e Santo António (Saint Anthony) são figuras distintas, e as festividades também o são. Em Lisboa, o São João não se celebra, as festas populares ao longo de todo o mês de junho são associadas a Santo António, pelo que esta distinção é essencial. Mesmo que existam ficheiros mal identificados, isso não justifica alterar ou confundir categorias inteiras. O facto de algumas fotografias terem nomes errados não significa que devam ser categorizadas com base nesses erros. Existem, de facto, títulos incorretos ou equivocados, e esses casos devem ser corrigidos individualmente, não tratados como se fossem referências válidas.
