A letter of the Armeno-Turkish script, named եէչ (yeç). Represents palatal approximant: [j]. Transliterated as y.

Usage notes

This letter is only used at the beginning of a word or after a consonant. After a vowel, յ (y) is usually used. Some texts also use ե between vowels. May also be used as a vowel in Armenian loans, in which case it is [e] (or [je] at the beginning of a word) and appropriately transliterated e (or ye).
