Yuè Yì zì Wèi wǎng, Zōu Yǎn zì Qí wǎng, Jù Xīn zì Zhào wǎng, shì zhēng còu Yān. Yān-wáng diàosǐwènshēng, yǔ bǎixìng tóng qí gānkǔ, èrshíbā nián, guó yīnfù, shìzú lèyì qīngzhàn. [Pinyin]

Yue Yi came to Yan from the state of Wei, Zou Yan came from the state of Qi, and Ju Xin came from the state of Zhao. Moreover, scholars all vied with each other in going to Yan. The King of Yan condoled people on the death [of their relatives] and extended good wishes to those living. He also shared happiness and woe with the people. Thus, within but twenty-eight years the state of Yan became prosperous and substantial. The soldiers, content and at ease, were ever combat-ready.
